Reredos of The Last Supper

Our fantastic reredos, which depicts in great detail Jesus and the Disciples at The Last Supper, has been cleaned and protected with the help of a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.   The Conservationists took the opportunity to carry out the work while the church was closed and now our restored and preserved reredos is ready for everyone to see and enjoy.   Please come and see it.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH

The church at Marstow was originally called St. Martins and was sited lower down the valley where it regularly flooded.

So in 1855 the old church was demolished and the new church of St. Matthew's was built at Brelston Green and consecrated in 1857.

We are the fortunate custodians of a sacred place in which ordinary people have come together for generations.   Our church is open every day of the year.    Please visit us to give thanks, rejoice, grieve, wonder and pray.

Be still and find peace.

Whoever you are;  wherever you come from,

we will be pleased to see you!
