WHY DONATE?

In common with other Anglican Churches St. Matthew's is maintained and run solely at the expense of its parishioners and donors.   We are a small rural parish of 400 homes and we have to work hard to keep our church open.

The past few years have been a testing time for everyone and especially for churches.   Despite the church being closed for many months during the pandemic we still had on-going expenses and without our fund raising this made paying our bills especially difficult.

All financial assistance is greatly appreciated and goes towards keeping this wonderful country church open for worship, fellowship, and in good repair.

DONATE

If you would like to donate to the work of the church and its upkeep, we are happy to accept donations, by cheque, or bank transfer to St. Mathew's Church Marstow,  Account Number  80803103, Sort Code 20-39-64.

Currently the church needs to raise just over £12,000 per year to cover the costs of maintenance, insurance, electricity, and to pay for the services of our clergy which we share with our neighbouring parishes.

Parish Giving Scheme

The easiest way to donate regularly is via the Parish Giving Scheme which is a 21st century way to provide the church with income.   The scheme, which is funded by the Diocese, collects your regular donations together with any Gift Aid entitlements and pays the gross amount to us within ten days.   This has enabled our Treasurer to plan for future day to day spending confident that our outgoings will be covered.   Donations can be made on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.
